The Deans' Health and Life Sciences Challenge

The i-lab is proud to have hosted the inaugural Deans’ Health and Life Sciences Challenge, which has both encouraged and supported students and postdoctoral fellows in exploring and developing entrepreneurial skills to realize their solutions to pressing issues in the realm of health and life sciences. After an engaging Demo Day, we are excited to announce the winning teams from among out 8 impressive finalists, who were each awarded spring semester residency at the i-lab and $5000 to further develop their ideas.

Grand Prize Winner - $40000

MatriTarg Laboratories is identifying new diagnostic biomarkers and novel drug targets for solid organ fibrosis

1st Runner-up - $20000

CareSolver is a web-based and soon-to-be mobile application that helps families and caregivers better coordinate the care of their elders.

2nd Runners-up - $7500

Broadleaf Health and Education Alliance is a non-profit organization that is integrating mental health care for children in schools in rural India.

SQ is a mobile application that allows individuals to share and pro-actively manage their sexual health
